A 22 years young student visited our center complaining from the left ankle pain and leg shortening by 11 Centimeter. The history of his condition going back to two years ago sustained road traffic accident , eleven operations done for him. The result was implant failure which means the screws were broken and the intramedullary nail migrated down toward the ankle creating ankle pain.

The fracture site is not united and the leg was shorter by 11cm. Figure 1-6.What I did for him I removed the failed implant. ILizarov frame is applied for him and bone transportation done to compress fracture site and compensate for shortening as shown in the reminded figures

I perfumed two operations for removal of broken screws and nails compression of fracture site and elongation of the bone to compensate of shortening ( which was 11 cm ) and correction of ankle foot deformities. after 11 month the external fixator is removed his x-ray shown good union as shown in figure 6 till 10.
